Black Friday falls on Friday 27 November 2026 and Cyber Monday on Monday 30 November. That is a month from now. Your inbox will fill with offers from every brand your customers ever bought from, and your WhatsApp message will land in the same week as theirs.

This plan is for an Indian online store that already sells on Shopify or Ecwid, or plans to. The idea behind Black Friday WhatsApp marketing is simple: talk to people who asked to hear from you, give them a reason to act before the crowd does, and know your cost per message before you press send.
I can’t give you a clean national figure. The date itself is solid: Friday 27 November, with Cyber Monday on 30 November, and several marketplaces run their own sales around then, though marketplace dates are often “expected” rather than announced this early. Indian stores have run Black Friday sales for several years, and press coverage describes it spreading from electronics to fashion, beauty and home goods.
My honest take: if your customers are urban, online and under 40, it’s worth a small, well-timed push. If your best week is Diwali (8 November 2026 this time), run your Diwali WhatsApp plan first and treat Black Friday as the second wave for people who didn’t buy.
| When | What you do | Message type |

| Mon 16 to Wed 25 Nov | Clean the list, build segments, get templates approved, design images | Template approval |
| Thu 26 Nov, 8 pm | Early access to your best 20% of customers | Marketing template |
| Fri 27 Nov, 10 am | Black Friday launch to the full opted-in list | Marketing template |
| Fri 27 to Mon 30 Nov | Cart reminders for people who left items behind | Automated reminders |
| Mon 30 Nov, 11 am | Cyber Monday last call, only to people who haven’t bought | Marketing template |
Notice what’s missing from this Black Friday WhatsApp marketing calendar: a message every day. Three broadcasts is plenty for most lists.
WhatsApp’s business policy says a business may contact people only after getting opt-in permission from the recipient, and that users can block or report you. Meta also says its systems may limit how many messages a business can send based on user feedback. A Black Friday blast to a bought list is the fastest way to find that out.
Here’s how to collect real opt-ins in three weeks:
Offer something concrete for opting in: “first look at the Friday deals, 24 hours before everyone else”. In my view that’s a better hook than a 5% coupon.
Three segments are enough. Don’t build ten.
WaMark lets you filter contacts by tag, state, area or pincode, so a sale with free delivery in specific metros goes only to people in those places. Anyone who replied STOP to an earlier campaign is left out of the next one, which is the behaviour you want in your busiest week.
Meta bills marketing messages per delivered message. The India rate from 1 January 2026 is ₹0.8631 per marketing message before 18% GST, so one message costs 0.8631 × 1.18 = ₹1.0185, call it ₹1.02. Meta publishes rates by market on its WhatsApp pricing page; check the rate card in your account too, because rates change.
Say you have 10,000 opted-in contacts, of whom 2,000 are top customers. Here’s the message count:
| Send | Audience | Messages |
|---|---|---|
| Early access, Thu 26 Nov | Top customers | 2,000 |
| Launch, Fri 27 Nov | Everyone | 10,000 |
| Cyber Monday last call, Mon 30 Nov | Estimated 8,000 who haven’t bought | 8,000 |
| Cart reminders | Estimated 1,000 abandoned carts | 1,000 |
| Total | 21,000 |
The sums: 21,000 × ₹0.8631 = ₹18,125.10. GST at 18% adds ₹3,262.52. Total Meta cost: ₹21,387.62.
Now add the software. If you run this on WaMark’s Growth plan (₹6,999 a month before GST, which covers up to 25,000 contacts), that is ₹6,999 × 1.18 = ₹8,258.82. All in: ₹21,387.62 + ₹8,258.82 = ₹29,646.44.
What does that need to earn? Assume an average order of ₹1,200 and a 30% margin after product cost and shipping, so ₹360 per order. ₹29,646.44 ÷ ₹360 = 82.4, so you need 83 orders from the campaign to break even. That’s 0.83% of the 10,000 contacts. Your own order value and margin will differ, so swap in your numbers. If your margin is 15%, the break-even doubles to about 165 orders.
Two notes on the sums. First, I’ve priced cart reminders at the marketing rate because I’d rather over-budget; ask your WhatsApp Manager or provider how your reminders are categorised. Second, some messages won’t be delivered at all. Meta applies per-user limits on marketing messages in India, and several providers say undelivered messages caused by those limits aren’t billed. Providers say the exact limit changes without notice, so don’t plan around a fixed figure. Black Friday week is exactly when people receive the most offers.

Start with WaMarkSee pricingMarketing templates are approved by Meta, usually within minutes to a day or two, so don’t leave this to 25 November. Remember WhatsApp rejects a template that starts or ends with a variable, so keep text on both sides of every {{1}}.

Notice that none of them says “limited time only!!!”. Real deadlines do the job. If you have a carousel template available, a swipeable row of 4 to 6 best sellers often beats a long text; WaMark supports carousel templates of 2 to 10 cards.
Someone who put a shirt in the cart on Friday evening and left is warmer than any name on your list. WaMark’s Shopify and Ecwid connection sends abandoned-cart reminders on WhatsApp, along with order confirmations, shipping updates and cash-on-delivery confirm-or-cancel messages. Turn the reminder on before 27 November and check one thing: the wording. A good one names the item, says the cart is saved, and gives the link back to checkout. No urgency tricks.
COD is where Indian stores lose margin in sale week. A confirm-or-cancel message after a COD order can cut down fake orders that come back from the courier. Add the Black Friday orders to that flow too.
Replies spike after a broadcast. People ask about size, delivery to their pincode, and whether the code works. A team inbox with assigned chats keeps them from sitting unread; set it up with 2 or 3 agents for the 27th. If you also want an AI agent for the repetitive questions, it answers from your own documents and hands over to a person when asked.
Afterwards, open the message analytics to judge your Black Friday WhatsApp marketing: sent, delivered, read and replied by template, with a cost estimate you can export. Divide your Black Friday revenue by your total cost from the table above. That’s your number for next year. See the full list of tools in WaMark’s features if you want to check what fits your store.
Black Friday is Friday 27 November 2026 and Cyber Monday is Monday 30 November 2026. Indian marketplaces and stores often announce their own sale dates close to the event, so confirm the exact window for the platforms you sell on. Start building your opted-in WhatsApp list well before 27 November.
Meta charges per delivered marketing message: ₹0.8631 in India before 18% GST, about ₹1.02 with GST. A campaign of 21,000 messages costs about ₹21,388 in Meta fees, plus your software subscription. Check your own rate card in WhatsApp Manager, because Meta can change rates.
Three broadcasts is enough for most stores: early access on Thursday 26 November, a launch on Friday 27 November, and a last call on Cyber Monday 30 November. Add automated cart reminders on top. More than that risks blocks and reports, and Meta limits senders whose messages get poor feedback.
Only to people who gave you opt-in permission. WhatsApp’s business policy requires opt-in from the recipient and a clear way to opt out. Customers who replied STOP must be left out. Build the list with checkout tick boxes, QR codes on parcels and Click-to-WhatsApp ads.
